A UGC Sponsored two day National Seminar on Human Rights in Hindi Literature was organized by our Department on August 19 -20, 2015. Dr Kumud Sharma, Professor, Delhi University delivered the keynote address. The Seminar was inaugurated by Sree Sankara Trust Chairman Dr NPP Nampoothiri . Many renowned academicians inside and outside Kerala participated and presented their research findings. A lot of research scholars also used this opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and present their findings

Extension Activities 

2013 onwards our Department started giving Communicative Hindi classes to local people. For this our trained students visit local people to give them basic Hindi knowledge. They are taught necessary Hindi for a fruitful communication with labourers, who mainly come from North Indians states.

2013 onwards our teachers as well as students started taking Communicative Hindi Classes for students of near-by schools. Our students are highly motivated by this act. Their self-confidence and self -esteem level has shown a dramatic increase.

Women Empowerment Programmes

Women empowerment is the talk of the day. To empower women is a herculean task. But our department is doing our best to empower our girl students. Feminism is taught to the students to improve their self esteem and boost confidence level. Apart from this they are made proficient in computer usage, DTP etc. They are given tailoring classes, jewelry making classes, flower making classes, hair styling classes by the departmental faculty as well as experts from outside.

Best Practices

Every year our faculty pool – in money to help the socially and economically backward students. If need arises financial help is given to deserving students.

Old age home is visited along with students to enhance their moral and social responsibility.

Students in nearby schools are given Hindi translation Classes.

Locals are taught communicative Hindi.
